Louise Low - Visual Artist
From her early days as a painter, Louise Low's artistic journey has been marked by a profound evolution. After earning her Bachelor's Degree in Contemporary Art from the University of Tasmania in 2010, Low ventured into the realms of sculpture and installation art, driven by a desire to experiment with various materials. Her transition from soft to hard mediums led to the creation of her notable works like the brassiere shark and themed vehicles, challenging societal norms and sparking conversations around lingerie taboos.
Low's recent solo exhibition in 2020 marked a significant shift in her focus. Here, she delved into the intricate relationship between individuals and society, incorporating kinetic elements into her art. This thematic evolution reflects her ongoing exploration of body-related imagery, a journey that has taken her across continents. She has participated in women artist residency programs in Sri Lanka and participated art symposiums and art exhibitions in Australia, China, Taiwan, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, and so on. Locally, she continuously expanding her artistic horizons and contributing to the global dialogue on art and society.
